Eric Jaffe writes in New York City. He’s a former associate editor of Smithsonian magazine online and a graduate of the Columbia University School of Journalism, where he began this book, his first. The King’s Best Highway received the 2012 Moroney Award for Scholarship in Postal History, given by the United States Postal Service.
He’s a daily contributor to The Atlantic Cities, a site devoted to city life run by The Atlantic magazine, and former editor at The Infastructurist (now defunct). His journalism has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Smithsonian, the Boston Globe, the New York Post, Slate, Science News, Psychology Today, and Boston magazine, among other publications.
